A Hunter meets his match 5 magical stars This is a fast paced and engaging urban fantasy romance which pairs Conor, a hunter of otherworldly abominations, with the mysterious Brenna It is the second book that I have read by Katherine McIntyre, the other being the Steampunk romance Stolen Petals, and I hugely enjoyed it.After his life is unexpectedly saved by Brennna, Conor joins her on her quest to rescue her stolen pendant from a common foe He becomes spellbound by Brenna s combination of bravery and vulnerability, sensing a kindred spirit and does all in his power to protect her when her life is threatened Brenna, who is hiding a secret finds herself becoming and attracted to this hunter which could well prove dangerous When faced with her worst fear, can Brenna stay alive long enough for Conor to rescue her Also can they survive treachery and the threat posed by the Unseelie world seeping into the human realm The romance is overall a sweet one, containing a sizzling love making scene and oodles of sexual tension I particularly liked how their relationship grows and how the author showed us what the characters were thinking about each other through their actions, rather than words. The fae world is hidden from normal human folk and I loved the imagery the author conjures up in her descriptions of the evil Unseelie, who lurk in the shadows and increasingly threaten the lives of others I also enjoyed the vivid descriptions of the deadly and ...

Disclaimer I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for honest review Born to be enemies but destined to be lovers Conor is a hunter who has vanquished creatures of all kinds Raised to be ruthless, he is expected to kill enemy fae on sight But when a chance encounter puts him in the company of a lovely half fae, he feels inclined to kiss her than kill her And after learning of her need for assistance, Conor finds himself playing knight in shining armor to the troubled Brenna.Brenna knew that the hunter would discover her secret sooner or later but the risk was worth it in order to get help in recovering her stolen amulet And after witnessing Conor s soft side in regards to an injured canine, she can t help but wonder if this hunter might be the exception to the rule.Even though a hunter and half fae can play nice with each other, doesn t mean that everyone will approve of the new partnering Conor s family despises the blood that runs through Brenna s veins and they aren t the only things that are a danger to her Banding with a resourceful witch, the pair take on the most vile creatures to threaten the city and all that live inside it.I flew through this book in a single sitting so it definitely held my attention The supernatural beasts and inhabitants of the city in the story were unique and interesting The plot held some betrayal and trickery, along with quite a bit of...

Conor and Brenna were both great characters A Hunter and a half fae While Conor s family hunt the Unseelie, they have no compassion for any fae Lots of action and a fantastic story made this impossible to put down Some steam with great secondary characters Loved it

SPOILERS AHEADHunting for Spring is a supernatural urban fantasy novel with a touch of mystery and romance thrown in for good measure I was drawn into the story right from the start There is a sense of authenticity to the setting of the novel it is very easy to imagine modern day Philadelphia in McIntyre s story world Since the novel is filled with multiple types of paranormal entities, it is an impressive feat Like any good urban fantasy, the base of gritty reality mixes in a seamless way with the fantastic elements and creates a place that a reader might feel he she could visit Neighborhoods vary and one might encounter run down, graffiti filled buildings situated amongst splintered chunks of concrete and garbage and just a few blocks later find well maintained buildings with brick facades and caf s that advertise their wares on easel chalkboards The tension between Connor and his father is established early in the narrative The dynamics of the family made me think of Supernatural particularly in the early...
